LETS DANCE // SOLO EXHIBITION SEPT 2020

About the Project Inspired by colourful flashbacks of a night out, Giles works with collage and photographs splashed and overlaid with layers of ink to create images of movement, excitement and passion. Describing his process and thinking behind the work, Giles explains: “I wanted to express the message that everyone needs to keep moving forward in the best way they can. “I figured the best way to do this was through the motion of dance. I love how the movement of dancing can convey both collective and individual positive energy. “I’ve been on a bit of a journey over the previous three years, and it's shown up in my work. I think we're all going through a massive moment of change collectively with the lockdown and social distance. It's been an exhausting year for sure so far, and I don't think we'll be the same after, but that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.”
